THINGS TO DO IN THIMPHU EP 3: LIVING MUSEUM

The Simply Bhutan Museum, located in Thimphu, Bhutan, offers you an immersive experience of Bhutanese heritage and traditions. Designed to resemble a traditional Bhutanese village, it showcases various aspects of Bhutanese life, including architecture, customs, and crafts. You can engage in hands-on activities such as traditional Bhutanese archery, butter lamp making, and trying on traditional attire. The museum also features ancient artifacts and provides insights into the country's history and culture through interactive exhibits.

You can visit the museum from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Saturday. Please note that it remains closed on Sundays and government holidays. Simply Bhutan is a popular destination for both tourists and locals, offering you a comprehensive understanding of Bhutanese culture in one location. Guided tours are available to enhance your educational experience with detailed explanations and stories about the exhibits. The museum's layout is designed to be accessible and engaging for visitors of all ages.

The entry fee to Simply Bhutan is 300 Ngultrum (Nu) for Bhutanese nationals and 1000 Nu for tourists. Children below the age of 5 can enter for free. The museum also offers group discounts and special rates for students. For visitors arriving through a local tour operator, this place comes as part of the package. However, please make sure to check with your tour operator if this place is part of the package if it is not reflected on the itinerary. The tour is for approximately 1 hour. You will experience the local wine and local tea which will be on offer for all guests. Make sure to check the ingredients if you have any form of food allergy. Also, all guests will get a glimpse of the traditional dances performed by the staff at the museum.

Just like this place, here at CUDIS vacations, we constantly update our packages by adding fun places and doing away with places which no longer offer the value. Get in touch with us to find out more about a trip to Bhutan. While you focus on your packing, we will take care of all your logistical and visa needs.
