7 Nights & 8 Days in Bhutan: Tour Itinerary for Indian Visitors


Day 1 (Baghdora to Phuntsholing)
We'll start our adventure by driving about 4 hours from Baghdora to Phuntsholing. Once we reach Phuntsholing, we'll stretch our legs by taking a nice walk around the town and enjoying the local sights. In the evening, we'll treat ourselves to a delicious dinner.

Day 2 (Phuntsholing to Thimphu)
After breakfast, we'll hit the road again and drive for around 4-5 hours to reach the capital city of Thimphu. After settling in and having lunch, we'll visit the Kaja throm, a local market where you can find all sorts of interesting handicrafts and souvenirs. Next, we'll check out the Craft Bazaar, another great spot for shopping and people-watching. We'll also visit the RTA (Road Transport Authority) and VAST (Vehicle and Sustainable Transport) offices.

Day 3 (Thimphu)
Today, we'll explore the highlights of Thimphu. First up is the Takin Preserve, where you can see the national animal of Bhutan up close. Then, we'll visit the impressive Buddha Point, a gigantic Buddha statue offering panoramic views of the city. After that, we'll learn about Bhutanese culture at the Simply Bhutan museum and the Zorig Chusum (School of Arts and Crafts). We'll also stop by the Tashichodzong viewpoint for a glimpse of this iconic fortress. In the evening, we'll take a leisurely stroll around town.

Day 4 (Thimphu to Punakha)
We'll start our day by driving about 2 hours to the Dochula Pass, where we'll be rewarded with breathtaking mountain views. Next, we'll embark on a short hike to the Chimi Lhakhang, also known as the "Temple of Fertility." After that, we'll visit the majestic Punakha Dzong and the longest suspension bridge in Bhutan.

Day 5 (Punakha to Paro)
Our morning begins with a hike to the Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten, a beautiful stupa perched on a hilltop. After lunch, we'll drive about 5 hours to Paro. Once we arrive, we'll take an evening stroll around the charming town.

Day 6 (Paro)
The highlight of our Paro day is the hike to the iconic Tigers Nest (Paro Taktsang) monastery, a 3-4 hour round trip hike. After this invigorating trek, we'll visit the National Museum and Drugyel Dzong.

Day 7 (Paro to Phuntsholing)
Today, we'll make our way back to Phuntsholing, a 4-hour drive from Paro. Once we arrive, we'll have some free time to explore the town and do some last-minute shopping or sightseeing.

Day 8
On our final day, we'll head to the Bagdogra airport to catch our flight home, taking with us amazing memories of our Bhutanese adventure.
