While in Bhutan, make sure to take back some souvenirs and there is no better place than the craf bazaar in Thimphu. It is local, affordable and authentic. My name is Kinga and this blog is about the craft bazaar run mostly by women entrepreneurs. Most items on display are crafted and designed locally and is comparitively cheaper compared to exotic handicraft shops. So make sure to buy a piece or two as this will support women entrepreneurship and local products in a nutshell. 

The Craft Bazaar in Chubachu, Thimphu, also known as the Authentic Bhutanese Craft Bazaar, is a vibrant marketplace that showcases the rich cultural heritage of Bhutan through its array of handmade products. Located along Norzin Lam, this bazaar is a must-visit for those interested in traditional Bhutanese arts and crafts. The bazaar consists of several stalls made from bamboo, each offering a unique collection of items such as hand-woven textiles, traditional paintings (thangkas), wooden masks, pottery, and handmade paper products. The artisans, many of whom come from rural parts of Bhutan, use age-old techniques to create these crafts, ensuring that each piece reflects Bhutan’s cultural identity.
