SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT FEE FOR INDIAN VISITORS (2025)

Sustainable Development Fee (SDF):

Bhutan levies a Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) to promote sustainable tourism and environmental conservation.For Indian tourists, the SDF is INR 1,200 per person per night. Children aged 6 to 11 receive a 50% concession, making it INR 600 per child per night, while children below 5 years are exempt from the SDF.

Cost Breakdown for Indian Tourists:

  1. Sustainable Development Fee (SDF):

    • Adults: INR 1,200 per night

    • Children (6–11 years): INR 600 per night.

    • Children (below 5 years): Exempt.

If you are travelling from Phuntsholing, then all visitors get a 24 hours SDF waiver meaning, no SDF is payable for the night spent in Phuntsholing.
