6 Nights & 7 Days in Bhutan: Tour Itinerary for Indian Visitors


Day 1: Arrive in Phuntsholing
After a 4-hour drive from Baghdora, we'll reach the vibrant town of Phuntsholing. We'll have some free time to explore the bustling streets and markets, soaking in the local vibe. In the evening, we'll savor a delicious Bhutanese dinner and rest up for the adventures ahead.

Day 2: Phuntsholing to Thimphu
Today, we'll embark on a scenic 4-5 hour drive to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. After checking into our hotel and enjoying lunch, we'll dive into the cultural heart of the city. First, we'll visit the Kaja Throm, a traditional paper-making factory. Next, we'll browse the vibrant Craft Bazaar, where you can find unique Bhutanese handicrafts. Then, we'll explore the RTA (Royal Textile Academy) and the VAST (Voluntary Artists' Studio), immersing ourselves in the country's rich artistic heritage.

Day 3: Exploring Thimphu
Today is dedicated to discovering the gems of Thimphu. We'll start at the Takin Preserve, home to the unique national animal of Bhutan. Next, we'll visit the magnificent Buddha Point, a massive Buddha statue overlooking the city. After that, we'll delve into the country's history and culture at the Simply Bhutan Museum and the Zorig Chusum (School of Arts and Crafts). We'll also take in the breathtaking views of the Tashichodzong, a fortified Buddhist monastery. In the evening, we'll enjoy a leisurely stroll through the city.

Day 4: Thimphu to Paro
Today, we'll make our way to Paro, stopping at the picturesque Dochula Pass for stunning panoramic views. We'll continue our journey towards Chelela, taking in the beautiful landscapes along the way. Our final stop for the day will be the National Museum of Bhutan, where we'll learn about the country's rich cultural heritage.

Day 5: Paro Highlights
Get ready for an unforgettable adventure! We'll start the day with a hike to the iconic Tigers Nest Monastery (Paro Taktshang), perched precariously on a cliffside. This 3-4 hour round-trip hike will be a highlight of our trip. After catching our breath, we'll visit the Drugyel Dzong, a historic fortress, and the Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples in Bhutan. In the evening, we'll enjoy a leisurely stroll through the charming town of Paro.

Day 6: Paro to Phuntsholing
Today, we'll bid farewell to Paro and make our way back to Phuntsholing, a 4-hour drive through scenic landscapes. Upon arrival, we'll have some free time to explore the town and its vibrant markets one last time.

Day 7: Departure
After an incredible journey through Bhutan, it's time to head home. We'll make our way to Bagdogra airport, carrying memories and experiences that will last a lifetime.
